I wanted to add a link to the Sci-Fi short story : The Feeling of Power, by Isaac Asimov because I was reminded of this story while reading Victoria’s blog. I absolutely loved reading this short story as a teenager, it blew me away that humans would choose to ‘revert’ to ancient knowledge and kill people to save money! Re- reading it now opens up my mind even more around the concept of knowledge and power. The true power lies,I believe, with knowing when to use technology as a tool to ones own advantage.

As I mentioned in my post about my conversation with Victoria that my son has a learning disorder. He uses technology as a tool to keep him at the same pace as his peers who aren’t challenged with reading. It doesn’t make him lazy because he uses it, the tech allows him to receive the same education as everyone else instead of getting stuck on one skill and falling behind on the content presented. Having access to tools allows everyone to participate and live confidently.
